Day 02: Mwanza - Serengeti national park Day Trip (B/L/D)

The Park is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and scientific value. With more than two million wildebeests, half a million Thomson's gazelles, and a quarter million zebras, it has the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa. The wildebeest and zebra moreover form the star cast of a unique spectacular - the annual Serengeti migration. The name 'Serengeti' comes from the Maasai language and appropriately means an 'extended place'.

The National Park, with an area of 12,950 square kilometers, is as big as Northern Ireland, but its ecosystem, which includes the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the Maswa Game Reserve and the Maasai Mara Game.reserve (in Kenya), is roughly the size of Kuwait. It lies between the shores of Lake Victoria in the west, Lake Eyasi in the south, and the Great Rift Valley to the east. As such, it offers the most complex and least disturbed ecosystem on earth.

Day 03: Mwanza – Butiama Day Trip (B/L/D)

  • After breakfast, transfer from Mwanza to Butiama.
  • Half day Butiama tour

Butiama Museum & Cultural Tours:

On the north-western side of Serengeti National Park, 60 kilometres from Ndabaka Gate (Western gate to the Serengeti National Park) one will meet great people named Wazanaki ethnic group. Butiama is the birthplace and burial location of the ‘Father of the Nation’, Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere, the founding president of Tanzania who began his political career in the early 1950s, led Tanzanians to independence in 1961, and remained in politics until his voluntary retirement in 1985.

Upon arrival experience Butiama village tour: A welcome to Mwalimu Nyerere homestead. Get a guided tour around the home and theMwalimu Nyerere’s mausoleum then proceed to the Mwalimu J.K. Nyerere Museum and then to the village area where cassava farms are found. Get a glimpse of cassava farming. Visit a traditional healer famous for treating infertility together with other diseases since the ancient time

  • Overnight in Mwanza.

Day 04: Transfer to Mwanza Airport (B/L/-)

  • After breakfast, return to Mwanza with a short stint of what Mwanza has to offer for you before your flight back home.
